deildt was born in Hibbing, MN in 1920 and graduated from Duluth State College. She taught in a high school before joining the WAVES. Once discharged she settled in Rhode Island, received an MLS from the Univeristy of Rhode Island and taught in Narragansett, RI. Part of the WAVES in WWII Oral History project.

Ball discusses her reasons for joining the WAVES in 1943, training at the US Naval Training School (WR), Hunter College, assignment as a file clerk in Washington, DC in the Bureau of Personnel, then worked in the mailroom. Comments on residence in Arlington Farms, social life, recreation and marriage in June 1945. Ball continued her affiliation with the Navy as a navy wife for sixteen years.

Ball was born in Woonsocket, RI in 1922. She spent her youth there and worked for US Rubber making barrage balloons after she graduated from high school in 1940. After her years as a navy wife, she returned to Warwick, RI and was employed by J.F. Moran Company.
